Our work usually takes shape on your wedding day with each detail perfectly set and tears in everyone's eyes as you walk down the aisle and say "I do". But, our work begins long before your big day. Often it begins with a color, a feeling, or an image that captures your imagination. We love the opportunity to take these abstract concepts and hone them into a perfectly executed creation. Today, we're giving you a look behind the scenes of an incredibly special passion project we created with our friends at Lucky Leo Dancewear and captured by Ale Vidal.
This particular shoot started as an idea for Ale of capturing the beauty in the movement of dance. The talented sisters at Lucky Leo created two couture gowns for our shoot and we focused on a way to add a floral element to them without taking away from the movement of the piece as a whole.
In our initial meeting, we brainstormed colors, textures, and shapes based on images we all pulled ahead of time. Ultimately, we decided the best place for floral was in a couture cape that would allow our model, Lilyana, to move freely.
On the day of the shoot, we worked with Lucky Leo to hand stitch each flower onto the cape. Working with live flowers means a short window for production so we worked quickly to allow for as much time to shoot as possible. Once everything was complete, we watched as Lilyana brought our creation to life in her effortless movement.
It's such a joy to see this piece come together and we couldn't have done it without this incredible team.
